GRIMEK AWARD 2017 - Sapri Italy July 1st - Rome October 29th


This annual prize wich is named after the great American champion of body- building and weightlifting was founded by Biagio Filizola in 1996 with  Grimek's

 

 authorization in order to honor Italian and international individuals connected with the iron game.Nominations are based on an evaluation of the subject's work as author, publisher, athlete, technician, or organizer for the diffusion and the growth of the sport.We hope to encourage the practice of weight training as means of physical and ethical improvement and to confirm the mottos "Life is Movement" and "Mens sana in Corpore sano"(a sound mind in a sound body).Our intentions in thus to remember and honor the work of Grimek, that great pioneer of the iron game, and his long life devoted to the culture of the body.In addition, the prize offers individuals of various nationalities with common ideas an opportunity to come together at Sapri in fellowship and friendship.
